School Uniform

St Joseph's Catholic Primary School has a day uniform and a sport uniform. The wearing of the school uniform is compulsory. A very good reason, and a note of explanation from parents is expected, if it is necessary for students to wear clothes other than their school uniform to school.

Wearing correct uniforms helps students identify with St. Joseph's and reflects pride in their own appearance as well as in the school. A high standard of behaviour is expected of students wearing St. Joseph's school uniform in public.

Clean, neat and tidy hair is a requirement of the school uniform and the responsibility of parents and students:

  • Extreme hair styles and hair dyes are not acceptable and parents will be asked to remedy their child's hair style if this rule is breached.  This includes 'tracks' and 'mohawks'.
  • Students with hair touching their collar must have it tied up at all times.  Hair accessories (ties or clips) are to be of school colours (ie green or gold) or a natural colour (ie black, brown, white).
