Environmental Education

On Care for Our Common Home (Laudato Si') is the new appeal from Pope Francis addressed to "every person living on this planet" for an inclusive dialogue about how we are shaping the future of our planet. Pope Francis calls the Church and the world to acknowledge the urgency of our environmental challenges and to join him in embarking on a new path.

Students and staff at St Joseph's are committed to having a positive effect on the environment. Our Year 5 & 6 Environmental Ministry Group and Joey Planeteers (Yrs 3-5) are involved in various environmental projects around the school including establishing and maintaining a Bush Tucker Garden, veggie gardens in Prep, apple slinkies, Clean Up Australia Day, National Tree Day and many other activities to raise awareness of environmental issues.
