Actively encouraging our fullest potential.
St Joseph's Catholic School is a co-educational school of more than 310 Prep to Year 6 students as well as a Kindergarten located within the school. Established in 1932 by the Sisters of St Joseph, today the school is a vibrant, multicultural learning community renowned as one of Mount Isa's finest schools for academic, sporting and cultural excellence.
St Joseph's Catholic School has a state of the art library and an indoor sport and performing arts building. We provide students with specialist teaching in Music, Drama, Instrumental Music, Physical Education, Library and Italian (LOTE). With an Inclusive Education Team the school differentiates for student ability, helping children develop competence at their own skill levels. Our Indigenous Education Department works with students, families and the community to establish partnerships for successful learning.
Staff and families are active in the Good Shepherd Parish and the wider Mount Isa community through eisteddfods, service and social justice, interschool sporting events, local competitions as well as the P&F Association and School Board.
