I warmly welcome you to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Mount Isa.
I am very proud and feel privileged to lead and serve such a well-established, organised and very friendly school community. Children, staff and parents are known, community involvement is encouraged and strong links are building between the Parish and the school. Our school is diverse in almost all aspects. We have a diverse cultural mix. Differing religious faiths are present, not just Catholic or Christian. Families of all economic backgrounds are members of our school. We are proud of this diversity and willingly cultivate it. Our website is designed to give you a glimpse of the things which make St Joseph’s the Catholic School that we all love.
Our school prides itself on a commitment to Jesus’ teachings and we use the Catholic tradition to make these clear to all. Gospel Values are central to all our endeavours. St Joseph’s School is part of the Good Shepherd Parish. Parents, children and teachers are part of this parish family.
At St Joseph’s we have a love of learning, for the arts and for sport. Everyone can find their niche at this school. Children are actively encouraged, by our committed and professional staff, to develop to their fullest potential. I firmly believe each and every one of our students has a variety of rich talents, gifts and interests. When these are affirmed and encouraged in a spirit of openness, respect and trust, we build fine young people.
As a community we strive to support each other, work with each other, live in harmony with each other, all for the well-being of the children, who are our primary focus. Schools do not succeed by themselves. I invite you to be a part of the daily life of our school community.
